First Steps Toddler Class Needs a Coordinator!

The Children’s Ministry is looking for a dedicated individual to overlook and coordinate the First Steps Toddler class. This class is currently split into two sections (2yrs and 3yrs of age). Penny Ray is a full time teacher for the 2yr old section during the EKG hour. The rest of the class is on a monthly rotation. This department uses Gospel Light’s Baby Beginning Curriculum that is based off monthly themes and with the involvement of hands on centers. Any individuals that are interested are to contact Mandy Turner.

TeamKIDs Meet Again on January 7th!

Our lesson on Jan. 7th will be on "The Courage to Withstand Peer Pressure". The kids will learn that it is more important to trust in God and follow Him than to be influenced by peers. They will learn that God's way is always best! Our Bible material is "The Twelve Report on the Promised Land" Numbers 13.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to all the families and friends of GBF! I hope and pray that you and your family will find joy, peace, and hope as your reflect on the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ. May your family be blessed this Christmas Season and through out the upcoming new year!

A few reminders.......
1) Sunday services will remain on the same schedule during the Christmas break. Family Worship at 9am and EKG hour is at 10:30am. Please join us!
2) TeamKID will not meet over the break. The next TeamKID meeting will be Dec. 7th.
3) The Orphan Shoe donation deadline is Jan. 14th. Please see the side of the blog for more information.
4)CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES for the WHOLE FAMILY will be on December 24th 5pm.

**Special Night At TeamKID** Dec. 17

It is a "special" night at TeamKID this week. Don't forget to wear your pajamas and slippers, and be prepared for a wonderful birthday party celebration for Jesus!

This week the children will learn that God has special plans. They can have opportunity to understand that they can do their part for God if they listen to Him and follow Him like Mary did.

Meet and Mingle with the Residents at Hilltop

All families are invited to join us on Sunday, December 21st at Hilltop Haven Nursing Center for a special visit with the residents. We will meet at the dining area at 5pm. During this time we will visit with the residents as they finish up dinner time. Books and games will be provided. After an hour of mingling, we will conclude by singing a couple of Christmas songs. We will dismiss in plenty of time for those interested in joining the church wide Christmas caroling that will begin at 6:30.

TeamKID Meeting Dec. 10

This week at TeamKID we will learn about having the Courage to Follow God's Commandments...The kids will learn that God gives them commandments because He loves them and wants to keep them safe and free from harm......
Don't forget to bring activity sheets, mission money, and some friends to your next meeting! Extra activities sheets are posted on the bulletin board outside the TeamKID room.

TeamKID Meeting Dec. 3

TeamKID breaks for Thanksgiving week but will return Wednesday December 3rd with a powerful lesson for kids..."Courage to Trust God When Things Are Tough". Our lesson is from the book of Exodus chapters 12, 13 and 14. The kids will learn that the Israelites had to trust God when they left Egypt and crossed the Red Sea. The will learn that they can trust God to take care of them when they face tough times too!

NEED A T-SHIRT?? We are trying to place another order for t-shirts soon. If your child has been to TeamKID at least 2 times they should have received one. If not, be sure at the check-in table, they let Mandy or Wendy know to order them one. They usually take about 2 weeks to receive them.

**If you do not have an activity sheet or lost it, please check the bulletin board outside the children's room. The extras are posted there.

It is FAMILY NIGHT at TeamKID this week! Nov. 19th

This week at TeamKID it is Family Night! That's right parents you and any siblings are invited to participate in an evening of fun with your TeamKID! Everything gets started around 6:15 and we will end at 7:30 sharp. We will not have nursery provisions but your little ones can sit with you throughout the night. We have a Thanksgiving theme this week and we are learning to have "Courage to Care for Our Family". Our Bible lesson and skit is from Ruth. We have a special video to share as well as games and activities for the parents to participate in with their kids. We hope you'll join us in the sanctuary this Wednesday to celebrate this special night with your kids!! Check-in will be in the sanctuary as well.

Bring a PUMPKIN

Hello Friends,

The GBF Children's Ministry is in need of pumpkins. We need a variety sizes and shapes. The pumpkins will be used to prepare centerpieces for the Thanksgiving Feast on November 23, 2008. Your help is appreciated!

Teams Kids on Wednesday Evenings

Ages: PreK - 4^th grade

TeamKID is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and to grow in a relationship with Him. All parts of TeamKID—Bible stories, scripture memorization, life application, missions and recreation—connect to teach life lessons to kids. TeamKID is for children ages Pre-K through the 4th grade and meets every Wednesday during the school year at the church from 6:30-7:30. This year’s theme is “Step Out….The Courage to Do What’s Right!” We will explore the Biblical stories of courage in the Old and New Testament and apply them to how God wants kids to be courageous today.

GBF Kids Have EKG Hour Too!!!

EMPOWERING KINGDOM GROWTH is not only for adults!!! The children of Grace Bible Fellowship will also participate in EKG hour (10:30-11:40) but at their own age appropriate levels and with their own curriculum. See the list below to find out where and whom your child/children meet with.

SONKids are studying the FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT from Gospel Light. SONKids meet right across from the boy's bathroom.
PreK and Kindergarteners are shepherded by Gina Stinson.
First and Second Graders are shepherded by Ann Vulpitta
Coordinator for this group is Mandy Turner.

Third and Fourth Graders meet in the children's overflow room, which is located east of the SONKids room. The shepherds for this group are Kayla and Will Fritcher.

Fifth and Sixth Graders meet across the hall from the youth in the HANDS and FEET room. Karen Perkins is the shepherd for this group and is doing a study on GENESIS!

Childcare is provided for babies birth-48months. Nursery room ages are birth-24months. The First Steps Toddler classes range from 24-48months. First Steps is beginning curriculum and will soon have full time EKG teachers, as well!
